Bac EEK is a native Californian who grew up in Houston, TX immersed in post-punk, synth-pop, classic rock, and alternative music. At 14, he began guitar lessons with Frank Cobb at Musicville/Memorial Music in Houston, setting the foundation for my musical journey.
In the early ‘90s, while working at Sound Warehouse, he was introduced to jazz, prog-rock, and ambient music. This led him to study jazz guitar at the University of North Texas before returning to Houston, where he helped to form the grungy blues-psych-rock band Dragonfly in the mid-’90s. He also participated in frequent jam sessions with the late great Keith Polk.
After moving to Austin in 2001, he collaborated with Bethany Prescott, writing songs and recording demos in his home studio. He later explored post-rock and krautrock influences in his own recordings while also engineering and performing on music written by Matt Truxillo. During this time, he also played bass for Patterns Form.
Now back in the Houston area, he continues to record new music in his home studio, using Reason Studios software along with electric and acoustic guitars, baritone guitars, bass, synths, electronic and acoustic percussion, and various effect devices.
