At 14, I began guitar lessons with Frank Cobb at Memorial Music, setting the foundation for my musical journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">In the early \u201890s, while working at Sound Warehouse, I was introduced to jazz, prog-rock, and ambient music. This led me to study jazz guitar at the University of North Texas before returning to Houston, where I formed the grungy blues-rock band <em>Dragonfly<\/em> in the mid-\u201990s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">After moving to Austin in 2001, I collaborated with Bethany Prescott, writing songs and recording demos in my home studio. I later explored post-rock and krautrock influences in my own recordings while also engineering and performing on music written by Matt Truxillo. During this time, I also played bass for <em>Patterns Form<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">Now based back in the Houston area, I continue to record new music in my home studio, using Reason Studios software along with electric and acoustic guitars, baritone guitars, bass, synths, electronic and acoustic percussion, and various effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A native Californian and naturalized Texan, I grew up in Houston immersed in post-punk, synth-pop, classic rock, and alternative music.
